How long will it take to haul my motorcycle?
Some motorcycle hauling companies will promise unrealistic hauling times so you will employ them. But, because this industry is route-based, times will vary depending on which route it is, what time of the year it is, and of course the weather. Generally, if you’re hauling your motorcycle coast-to-coast, it will take 7-14 days. If you going from south to north, it may take 3-4. However, if you’re coming or going to the Northeast and New England, it may take a bit longer depending on how the weather is looking. If there is a storm brewing that might dump inches of snow onto the region, you may have to wait until it passes (this is due to truck and cargo safety).

Motorcycle Carrier Rate

Motorcycle carrier rates are simply the costs that carriers charge for hauling motorcycles from one location to the next. The motorcycle haul industry, as well as any motorcycle carrier rate, is based almost solely on routes; truck drivers have many expenses to pay, so they charge customers or haul brokerages based on their expenses they accrue during the haul on a given route. Fuel is usually the most expensive expense that an motorcycle carrier will have during transit, so they price their routes based on how far they are. Typically, shorter routes cost less money, as well as any routes to or from big cities. This is because there are many more customers in big cities, which means more loads for drivers; this, in turn, causes the motorcycle carrier rate to go down because they don’t have to go so far to find their next load. Likewise, rates are cheaper between cities that have a short distance between them because the travel time and the expenses are much lower.

Auto Mover

an auto mover can refer to one of two different services: either a broker or a carrier. technically, an auto mover would be a carrier, because they actually move your automobile; however, most carriers utilize brokerages to find vehicles to move, because brokerages number in the thousands and the vast majority of customers looking to ship their vehicles use brokerages. auto movers specialize in moving vehicles, however, so if you contract with a brokerage you’ll still be using a carrier no matter what.  read article...
